This year in Algebra 2, Mr.Basinger taught us how to use logarithms and exponents. I found this challenging and sometimes very confusing.
The first image shows what a logarithm looks like before I change it to an exponent.
The logarithm base is 2 and the result is 8 and the exponent is 3.
To double check your logarithm, rewrite the log as an exponent. (see lower part of image)
In Algebra 2, we also learned how to use logarithms in real life.
The above image is the equation for compound interest. P=principle, r=rate, n=number of times compounded, t=time.
